Now the real stuff begins. No tutorials, no experiments just the stuff I consider art. I had listen to a lot of old school hip and looking at the latest in 3d typography so I thought to myself why don't I combine the two and make something really fresh or at least new to me.

So a while go, I was going over some ideas and A ATCQ song came on called "LYRICS TO GO" and I thought it was perfect. A little Illustrator and a lot of Photoshop and Textures.

I really loved doing this and this style so expect more a lot more.

Sorry I know I have been slacking on fresh fifteen updates. Well I am back for a min. I will say a brotha got a new job so it takes alot of my time. But that is neither here nor there. it about the art and this is what you are here to see.

Blaze One is a photo-manipulation I did pretty quickly after thinking about martial arts and some other ideas.

Almost did make it this week. Been really Busy for my and part of me loves and part of me hates it. But hat is the life I choose. So I wanted to post the next in the line of Of My fresh fifteen.

So this time I was playing around with a tutorial from the good folks at abduzeedo.com/, I think this site and PSDtuts.com was the first design site I start looking at when I got serious about the form. So I wanted to do some retro and decided on this one.

Okay, So this update is kinda late as it is has been a one busy week,

Finally got a new job. So things may be getting a little late. Working on a comic book for a client as well as a creating a new web site for another.

So I know this effect has been done before but I wanted to play around with some type as well.

Now that I look at it there is allot I could do with this one. May have to revisit this kind of work in the future.

I know, I know this effect was created by some one else and it has a tutorial some where online. An for this piece I followed that tutorial. And if I could remember where I saw it, I would give them credit. However, like I said in the beginning of this little event I am not here to expand my viewership only to expand my horizons as an artist and designer.

Fresh Fifteen (1/15)

So I have been clamoring to my friends and associates about this project I have been undertaking for some time now. And it kinda of my New Year Resolution to push my art work out there more that I ever had before.

So over the last month and a half I been grinding out 15 new pieces that I would normally not do. This exercise was not getting more views as some detractors might say, but stepping outside of my comfort zone and stepping up my artistic ability as well as my design skills.

So I don't keep on talking and babbling I want to start of with the first piece dedicated a legend in the Rock Industry and one of two legends that share my birthday.

Pardon My babble ...

...but I seem to be going through a crisis of an artist nature. I produce a a lot of works form illustration to graphic design, comic book art to web design, T-shirt apparel design to Vector illustrations concept art to 3d character models. So I have lot of work and in recent years I have been holding off on pushing any of it because I wanted to put it in an artbook. But, it is increasingly hard on me to look at my art I have set aside for an artbook or a sketch book that is almost 2 years old and see good work or work that represent what I can do.

So my question, my queue is if you think one should hold showing the artwork to be shown exclusively in an art book or just put it out and if an art book comes up collect your best put it out. Don't worry about exclusivity and just be an artist.

Just something that is knocking around in my head. I sitting here on 200 or so various art works for projects that may or may not happen. I'd rather be see that than wait to see them if a book or two get out.

I don't really do this type of thing but, I am not feeling the IPAD, Its pretty cool but I was hoping for a whole lot more. Don't get me wrong It's lovely as an over-sized I-POD Touch but it could have been so much more. I was truly hoping for the new-aged digital sketch book. Just imagining it with a program like Artrage or sketchpad or ever corel draw make my imagination go crazy. I could truly see myself taking it anywhere and drawing anything. But, Alas it just an over sized expensive reader.

Maybe next I will get what I want.

Oh and thing are going to be changing.

FRESH FIFTEEN coming real, real soon and re-model of the blog is definately needed.

MC Do The Art of Hip-Hop

As I continue to try and find the strength to let some of my most hidden piece go. I happened upon this piece entitled," MC do: The Art of Hip-Hop."

So let me get you up to speed, At first this was piece I was playing around with at my previous place of employment when there was absolutely nothing to do. It originally stared out as my trying to get a my mind around CS3 and playing with it's new functions. However, After hour upon hour of listening to Old/ True School Hip-Hop, it became some thing more. I started to really get into the piece, I notice I was killing my machine. So I had to take it home to the mac and finish it there.

For a few weeks out of my life this was all I thought about. Every vector, every image used was in some was influenced by a particular song in on my Zune (that right I said zune, deal with it).

Upon finishing this piece I wanted to show the world but forgot about it until I was asked to put it in a show. However, this peice did not make the cut so I put it back in to the vault.

I was originally going to do more with the inclusion of the elements of hip-hop, however I decided to put those of hold to develop some other ideas. Those other poster are still being work on however have taken in a new direction

New Avenues of interest.

I am slowly but surely thinking about traveling down some new avenues of artistic interest. Things I once scoffed at now seem pretty cool and worth playing around with at least for a short time period. I am by no means going away from my current interest and loves. I just want to branch out and see what happen with some idea I have.

For some time now I have been playing around with the idea of vinyl figures. Ever since my senior art exhibition I have been chomping at the bit to do few of them for my self at least. I really like going through the whole process. from rough concept to final product I don't want to skip any steps. It fascinating to me to see something like that come to life. I feel same way when I create a piece in 3D.

The next avenue in t-shirts. I am by no means trying to be a fashion designer. I no desire to be one. but I have truly seen some amazing design on t-shirts lately. And want to try my hand at them. I have not desire to do designs with skulls on them. For some reason I find that cliche and rather boring. There are some really amazing designs out there and then there are some really boring designs that look like a six year old did them.

So in coming days, weeks and months I will hopefully be able to throw some new art work up from then two new avenues to get some feed back.

Keep grinding.

So I have been go for a while, I did not mean it this happen to me once and I while, I get really good at updating a posting art is getting back to people and then I loose interest in the something or get really in to the production of my own projects. The latter is what happen this time including the fact that I lost my job due to this damn recession.

It sucks but I am am still alive and breathing. As long as I can wake up everyday and create I good. I am diligently working to find new job as well as reworking my web-sites to show off what I can rally do as a artist. I got some new project i am working on and some new idea to throw up.

Hollow Ground

I'd like to officially put out "Hollowed Ground." This piece took a hell of along time to do. A little over two years to do. It would have taken others and few weeks to do, but I was learning 3d studio max at same time I was finishing school, dealing with work, cts (due to working in 3d) the loss of family members, other personal projects and other thing life had to throw at me.

I was going to include some long statement of BS about the sword and it honor and all this other crap but really this is just something I put my all in to and I hope every one likes it. I know there are few issues but really don't have the patience to re-render and re-compile these images.

In short the is my homage to all of the great anime, cartoons, hk movies, American and Japanese comics, martial arts movies, videos games and fantasy action adventure movies, that have inspired me over the years. So many of you know some you may not this just my way say thanks

I am one not to speak on the death of another. I never felt right about the loss of life. But this one just hurts something fierce. Michael Turner was easily one of my top 5 artist of all time. He was a major inspiration to me artistically and career wise. He took his skill and talent and took them to even greater heights.

I got to meet him only once at balticon, and he seemed like a really cool down to earth guy. I wish I could have actually spoken to him. I could have learn so much. damn even my mom loved his art and she doesn't get into comics.

Thanks for everything. You Will be missed.

Well, I am finally getting around updating this art blog with some new works, above are 3 of the first pieces I knocked out from my hiatus off the net. Two of them are color version of the crazy vinyl characters and the last is some thing I want to try more of digital rendering of people. I saw this one cat on youtube, do some thing along these lines and I had to givea wack at it my self. I will not lie I used a reference. I am not gonna say i did thing from scratch. Well I know this is kinda late, but I did for the first time ever attend otakon, this year I had planning on going to an otakon for years, every since my boy Chris showed me so of the swag he got in '02, an every year I have do work or I just forgot until that day because i was working.

So, finally I got a chance to go and I have to say that was ill. I only got to go for one day sat. but it was still an amazing event. it filled up all of the Baltimore convention center. the event was massive which it dwarfs in comparison with balticon which is like one main area and a few rooms. For the most part I was just taking all of the art in and mulling it over in my in head, It did not matter if it was costumes or art, anime or manga I was being artistically inspired by it all. It was really cool seeing all of these people who loved the art form as much as I did some even more from the way the dress and reacted to others. By 2 o'clock I was exhausted from walking around and my eyes kinda hurt from the looking at all of the bright cos players.

On that note those who cam to the con in costume, did your thing I saw some of the most amazing costume I ever seen at con. I will have to post the few pics I did get, later. Go a chance to see the witchblade anime it wasn't bad but it wasn't all that good either. The anime it self was well drawn but the story was tongue and cheek with allot of fan service as well as few punch line thrown in there.

On to the main event for me at least was the artist alley and dealer room. both areas were huge and packed with things to do. In the artist alley got to meet and my some great artwork from some fellow deviant artist ( deviantart.com). An the dealer room was great found out about some anime which I was look for, Especially Karas and some I did not know existed like Freedom. Which might I say look a whole lot like Akira.

I was not gonna stay until 2 in the morning so I got out of there around 6 in evening.

In conclusion for me the show was amazing, I had allot of fun and became inspired artistically about somethings, I am going to do it for the whole weekend next year.

I'm out.

Welcome to Classic Blaque which is basically, the other side to artist and creator William Anderson. Some of you may know me most of you don't, I am a comic artist, concept art and 3D modeler but as this Blog will show soon show, I am so much more. This is just another way to promote my craft that can not necessarily be shown where I currently have most of my art work uploaded.
I have been rolling the idea of a Blog around in my head for ages and finally got the nerve to create one and besides it's free. So It's no skin of my nose, if it fails or succeeds. In the coming days, weeks. months, I hope to present another side to my artwork for the world to see ( and it's not none of that freaky stuff either). and I wil still be uploading comic book stuff up here too.

With that said, I am know going to shut up and have fun with the blogging thing.
